When the client says that want Dior funky Rasta and show you colourful postcard as inspiration to update their basement snug and kitchen area, it’s going to be a fun project. The space already had a new kitchen and flooring and some great art pieces, so this was about taking it to the next level. The scheme was about injecting some colour to reflect their style but also involved styling and repurposing a lot of beautiful objects and art they already had to make the space work. Using the colours from the postcard the display cabinet had some colour added to the compartments. Some of these colours were in blocks in the rest of the space. Little Greene jewel beetle on the chimney breast (luscious green), Cordoba on the alcove (deep aubergine) and Hortense (soft lilac). The new olive-green sofa is a classic design from Twenty Twenty One which brings comfort and a style which won’t date.
